Today marked the culmination of our EDCI 336 course journey.

Reflecting on the entirety of our Technology and Innovation course, I find myself marvelling at the transformation from my initial digital literacy standpoint. Starting with minimal proficiency, I could have never anticipated the extent of growth I would undergo throughout the semester. Over this course, I have learned so many new skills, from learning how to edit videos, edit images on PowerPoint, and use tools to make lessons more engaging, I am excited to have a classroom one day that thoughtfully incorporates technology to both enhance learning, engagement, and to make my lessons more interactive.

The prospect of creating a classroom website initially seemed daunting, but through the course, I’ve gained the confidence and skills necessary to embrace this endeavour. I had never created a website before or had thought of it, but I knew I wanted to have a class website when I have a classroom of my own to ensure everyone is on the same page. I felt completely intimidated by running a website though, and after this class, I feel so confident in my abilities and I am beyond excited to be able to make this want a reality one day! As I envision having my own classroom one day, the notion of a class website emerges not only as a tool for coherence but also as a platform for fostering parental involvement. With newfound confidence, I eagerly anticipate translating this vision into reality. I have learned so much about myself, education, and the kind of teacher I want to be one day, one that utilizes technology in the classroom.
